Laura Kay is a native Floridian.  She grew up in Stuart, Florida, in a boating family.  Majoring in mathematics led to a career of teaching high school math.  After retiring, she became interested in learning sign language, and she interpreted at the Treasure Coast Deaf Church.  A traveling adventure led to an interest in designing and making jewelry.  Recently she discovered sailing (growing up was all about power boats) and is a member of two sailing clubs!! There are just not enough hours in the day!!  

Laura.Kay and Geoffrey Smith at the Geoffrey Smith Gallery.  Geoffrey is well known for his magnificant sculptures of various types of animals.  His sailfish sculpture welcomes everyone to the town of Stuart. The gallery carries a full line of Laura Kay's jewelry as well as many of his life-sized sculptures.    His studio in Port Salerno also carries her jewelry.

Sterling silver or gold filled wire is used in the wire wrapped jewelry.  Copper wire is also available upon request.  A variety of semi-precious gem stones, fused glass, coral, and sea glass is incorporated into many of the designs.  Fine silver jewelry is made from silver clay that is fired in a kiln.  The final product is .999 pure silver and is called fine silver.  All of the jewelry is fully guaranteed.
